options grant the buyer the right but not the obligation to buy an underlying asset (such as shares of GT Bank) at a certain price on or before a particular date in future.
options grant a buyer the right but not the obligation to sell an underlying asset at a certain price on or before a particular date.
Options are also styled as American Options, which grant the buyer the opportunity to exercise his right at any date on or before the expiration date. European Options on the other hand can only be exercised on the expiration date.

  • Will Investors be required to deposit funds or have funds on margin with BNI LTD to invest in BNI OPTIONS®?

    No. Investors are not required to deposit funds on margin or otherwise to buy BNI options®. The investor will only be required to pay an options premium which will be computed for each options contract he is investing in. The option premium will depend on the price of the underlying asset, its volatility, maturity date and of course the number of BNI options® the investor wishes to purchase. The investor will also not be required to pay any membership or access fees whatsoever.

  • What underlying assets does BNI provide options on?

    BNI provides options on NSE-ASI, All shares quoted on the NSE, and, any other underlying asset whose price is publicly available and for which an investor is looking for a counterparty to purchase options from.
